Love Letter to Motherhood

I was reading one of my favorite websites, Babble, and I saw this...

.."What is motherhood but the very best chance to learn what you are made of? It will strip you down to nothing. Make you doubt yourself a thousand times. And it will make you roar with a fierceness you’ve never before seen. It will search your heart for your greatest fears and the bravest of all your intentions and set them out on display.

It breaks you. It saves you. It steals the girl you were. All of her. You’ll never sleep like her or be as carefree as she once was, but she’d never believe the courage or the selflessness she’ll one day possess in you. Motherhood replaces her with someone who understands love on a level the girl you were never could.

It’s okay to sometimes wish you could go back and live a day in her shoes. A day to bask in the decadence of irresponsibility. But if she could look forward: If she could see herself tested, how her fears have been faced, how the question “Am I strong enough to survive this?” is answered with a resounding yes, time after time. She’d feel damn proud to become the woman that awaits her..."

I couldn't help but share.  It speaks the truth.

Monday Moans

If you're a parent, you all know the joys of teething.  Teething sucks.  Period.

                                                             (source - http://www.ada.org)

As you can see, it has only begun for my little man.  Both of his central incisors on the bottom popped up on Christmas day.  For some reason, it wasn't too bad.

But now, his top two are trying to cut through and it has been pure hell.  You get to this point when they are screaming you just don't know what to do.  You feel helpless.  I'm not too big on using Orajel, because of the Benzocaine.  I've used tylenol, ibproufen, teething tablets, and teething gel (hyland's brand).  I'm not looking forward to the coming months with this whole teething process.

Since I'm on the subject of teething, I might as well talk about sleep.  He's been gradually getting better.  He still wakes up for one nighttime feeding.  I'm trying to slowly wean him off of that.

Allergies are kicking my ass.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Under Construction

I'm TRYING my hardest to come up with a new look myself in Photoshop.  I'm bothered by the fact that I will not post something until I find a way to revamp my blog.  I want a look that I fall in love with.  Photoshop has taken my time right now.  Sooo, hopefully we'll get this figured out soon and we will have a new look..

Where Have I Been, You Say?

Wow, It's been since November?  My computer has been out of comission and it has taken me awhile to get back into the swing of things.  Mommyhood is tough.

My baby was only 2 almost 3 months old.  I can't believe it's been that long.  Brady will be 7 months old next week!  *gasps*  He's getting so so big!

See how he's grown?

Here are a few stats that I know off of the top of my head...

Weight:  16lbs, 4oz   (23rd percentile)

Length:  27.25"  (73rd percentile)

Head:  17.25"   (62nd percentile)

Diaper Size:  Size 3!!

Feedings:  He takes about 6-7oz every 3 hours.  He eats solids three times a day!  He will usually have oatmeal/yogurt/or fruit in the morning, fruit or veggie in the afternoon, and a fruit + veggie for dinner.  He loves avocado, sweet potatoes, carrots, yogurt, applesauce, etc. etc.  He does NOT like peas or green beans.  He is still on the Nutramigen.

Sleeping:  Haha, what's that?  He will usually go down anywhere between 7:30-8pm.  He will then wake up anywhere from 12:30-2am.  After that, he sleeps like crap.  He will be up every 30 minutes.  It's been a rough few months.  I feel like I have tried everything for him to sleep better through the night.  Right now, nothing is working and he hates sleep.  He will usually take one long nap during the day, and that is on a good day.

What He LOVES:  He loves to eat, clapping his hands, crawling around on the floor, chasing Eddie, playing with his sister, his blankie, his 'da-da', remote controls, my phone, loves to grab at noses when people hold him, music, kicking his feet, his jumperoo.  Brady is truly a happy baby.

Things I Want to Remember:  He started clapping his hands around 5 months.  He can say 'da-da' and 'ed-E' (our dog).  He is still not sitting up unassisted.  He's too busy and wants to crawl around everywhere.  He started 'army' crawling at about 5 and half months.  He got his first tooth on Christmas day, and about a day later the other one popped up right beside it.  So we have 2 teeth!!  He can wear 3-6 month, 6-9 month, and some 12 month stuff.  3-6 month clothes are starting to fit pretty snug.  We still haven't switched to the convertible car sear yet, but will be here very very soon.  He had to be put on a nebulizer for a few weeks when he was 5 months old.  He had very bad bronchitis and would not stop wheezing.

Lilly is doing wonderful.  She is only 2 and half months away from finishing kindergarten.  She is very very smart and is reading very well!  We are so proud of her!  I can't believe she will be in first grade here in about 6 months.  She has made so many new friends and I am so thankful for that!  She has her very first sleepover this weekend and she is so excited about it!  Unfortunately, it's allergy season and her allergies are awful!

I promise to be a better blogger and update regularly! :)
